SoS delivers bespoke practical training, team or one-to-one tutoring, and independent reviews of your existing programme.

What we deliver

Small-boat seamanship

Basic seamanship, boat handling, and boating safety for new and developing crew.

Rescue scenarios

Man-overboard, towing, search patterns, casualty handling and emergency drills on your boat.

Jetski and rescue-craft operations

Operating and rescuing from personal watercraft in a SAR context.

On-scene coordination (OSC)

Education and practice for the coordination role at the scene of a maritime incident.

One-to-one coaching

Tutoring for individuals: coxswains, team leaders, and aspiring first-responders.

Programme review and development

Review of your training content, observation of sessions, gap analysis, and specific recommendations.

In person or remote

Boat operations and field exercises are conducted in person, at your boat and venue. Coaching, consulting, programme reviews and some scenario-based instruction can be delivered remotely. No prior experience is required — SoS works with beginners through to experienced coxswains, team leaders and managers.
